Now that U+0BD0 (ௐ) is the Unicode code for Tamil ohm (Tamil om), the following proposal investigates the ways to output various shapes and types of Tamil ohm. Please send your comments to Tamil_Araichchi. When I first proposed the Tamil Ohm character to be included within Unicode as an atmoic code point there was significant resistance from UC and WG02. It was a hard won struggle and managed to get it approved as an atomic code point. As the Dnagar Ohm from the inception of Unicode was made atomic, the discrimination part of the argument finally made the UC relent and encode atomic Ohm/ௐ.

(Note: When this page was last updated, the aAvarangal font is known to include the Tamil ohm symbol in its depository. Copy and paste this character "ௐ" and use aAvarangal font as the existing keyboard utilities are not yet supporting this character.
